EU TAC Member to address the International Symposium on Environmental Standards for Electronics 2007 (ISESE'07)

KANATA, ONTARIO — Ageus Solutions (www.ageussolutions.com) is pleased to announce that EU RoHS Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC) member, Torben Nørlem, will address the International Symposium on Environmental Standards for Electronics 2007 (ISESE'07 - www.isese07.com) being held on October 10th and 11th in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The focus of ISESE'07 will be on compliance and implementation issues related to WEEE, RoHS, China RoHS, REACH and other national e-waste regulations, as well as packaging and battery directives.

ISESE'07 provides a forum for government representatives and interested parties from the electronics industry to discuss the implications of environmental regulations surrounding electronics. The program features presentations, discussions and case studies from key decision makers and experts on RoHS- and WEEE-type legislation from North America, Europe and Asia Pacific addressing the issues associated with implementation and enforcement of existing and emerging environmental legislation.

Torben Nørlem is responsible for EU-RoHS policy, legislative and enforcement-related questions within the Ministry for the Environment in Denmark. Torben is also a member of the European Commission's RoHS-TAC (Technical Adaptation Committee) and the EU RoHS Competent Bodies Network. Torben is the author of a new guideline on the scope of the EU-RoHS Directive that was finalized in March 2007 addressing the fundamental question of determining whether a product is outside or inside the scope of the EU-RoHS Directive and thereby the WEEE Directive.
